Margie Brackeen has over twenty years of experience in many areas of human subject research from research design and coordination; monitoring; auditing; research compliance; to IRB/HRPP. She became the Director of the Human Research Protection Program at the Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus Ohio in 2019. In this role, she is responsible for the facilitation of the human subject protection efforts across the Nationwide Children’s hospitals and other entities including the Institutional Review Board, Quality Improvement, and Education. Prior to joining Nationwide Children’s, she served as Research Compliance Director and Human Research Educator with Arkansas Children’s in Little Rock, AR. She is a graduate of Ferris State University in Michigan, where she studied biology and industrial chemistry technologies.
