Kirsten Bell, MLAS, LATG, CPIA, is an Associate Director in the Animal Sciences & Technologies department at AstraZeneca in Waltham, Massachusetts. Kirsten has over 25 years of biomedical research experience and has served as an IACUC administrator, vivarium manager, and pre-clinical researcher. In her current role, she is responsible for animal welfare and regulatory compliance as it pertains to research conducted on behalf of AstraZeneca and is a champion for Openness in Animal Research and Culture of Care.
Kirsten earned a Master of Laboratory Animal Science from Drexel University and Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She is also certified by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) as a Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) and Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) as a Certified Professional IACUC Administrator (CPIA). She is the Chair for the United States Animal Research Openness (USARO) initiative’s Exemplars Committee and a member of the New England Branch of AALAS (NEBAALAS).
In her free time, Kirsten enjoys spending time with family and friends and doting on her saluki and 3 retired racing greyhounds.
