Tara Martin is a faculty veterinarian at the Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine (ULAM) at the University of Michigan. As part of this position, she directs the Refinement and Enrichment Advancements Laboratory (REAL), one of the nation’s first and only programs dedicated to optimizing biomedical research efforts through improved animal well-being by understanding the intersection of the animal’s lived experience and scientific results. Tara earned her DVM from the Virginuia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and completed a residency in Comparative & Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University.
