Dr. Lofgren completed a MS and DVM from Tufts University, a post-doctoral training program in Comparative Medicine at MIT, and a research fellowship at Newcastle University, UK. She was an Associate Attending Veterinarian at the University of Michigan Medical School where she provided clinical care, contributed to the residency training program, and conducted laboratory animal welfare research. At Novartis, Dr. Lofgren works with the global Animal Welfare Compliance team to ensure high ethical and animal welfare standards for internally and externally conducted research, enhance awareness about the need for and value of animals in research and increase 3Rs advancements.
