Beth Irwin (MA, LPC, CIP) is a Full Committee IRB Coordinator with University of California San Francisco’s HRPP, where she works to process new studies that require expedited and full committee review for the Mission Bay cardiology committee.
Prior to UCSF, she has nearly a decade of experience providing IRB review of exempt and expedited applications, delivering training opportunities for students and research teams, and providing support to social behavioral committee reviewers.
Much of Beth’s career has also focused on providing support for youth in her community, including experiences working as a resident counselor in a juvenile detention facility, high school Psychology & Sociology teacher, and mental health provider specializing in child/adolescent assessment and intervention- which she currently performs part-time with her group practice outside of the IRB world.
Beth earned her Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University, Teaching Certification from the University of Iowa, and Bachelors from Cornell College. During the random moments in life when she is given time to relax, she enjoys gardening, cooking for her framily, camping, reading fiction books, and planning vacations.
