Eleanor Kuszmar, MS, CRA, CHRC is the Director for Research Compliance in the Office for Academic and Research Integrity at Harvard Medical School (HMS). In this role, she is a leader and resource in all Research Compliance initiatives within the HMS community, as well as acting as liaison, representing HMS Research within the Harvard University Compliance Community. In this role she supports all members of the HMS community to conduct research in accordance with all applicable lawas, rules, regulations and contractiual obligations. Previously, she worked in Research Compliance and Conflict of Interest at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Major compliance initiatives include research privacy, Clinical Trials.gov, data security, controlled substances, translator space, research security, research accouitng, RCR, faculty disclosures, activism on campus, and VA relations. Additionally, she has over fifteen years of Sponsored Programs and Research Administration experience, holding various positions across multiple institutions, including supporting the roll out of electronic research administration initiatives and improved administrative practices in many research administration areas. In 2018, Eleanor became a Certified Research Administrator (CRA) and Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC). Eleanor received her BFA in Photography from Massachusetts College of Art and her MS in Arts Administration from Boston University. In her free time, Eleanor likes to sail, collect rocks and minerals, and is renovating an historic home in Downtown Salem, MA and is pursuing a degree in accounitng.
