Cassandra Marie Tansey, DVM, DACLAM, is the Chief Veterinary Medical Officer for the US Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Tansey received a bachelor of arts in sociology from Rice University and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University before joining the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to complete a post-doctoral residency in laboratory animal medicine.
