Guthrie Capossela is Hunkpapa Lakota from the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. He serves as Mayo Clinic’s Community Engagement Coordinator for Tribal Outreach in the Midwest. Guthrie facilitates the Healthy Nations where he works to strengthen relationships between Mayo Clinic leaders with regional Tribal, Urban Indian Health, and aligned tribal health stakeholders. Throughout his career, he’s partnered with Native communities to strengthen community wellness through embracing community assets such as culture, language, and education. He is a 2015 graduate from Hamline University with a Master’s in Nonprofit Management and earned a BS from the University of South Dakota in 2009.
Guthrie lives in Rochester, Minnesota with his wife of eleven years Tonya, and their two sons.
