Dr. Sullivan received her BA in Neuroscience from Amherst College, and her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Utah. In 2002, she joined the faculty in the Department of Physiology & Biophysics at the University of Washington School of Medicine, where she is currently an Associate Professor. Her lab uses mouse models of Alzheimer's disease to better understand what is going wrong at the early stages of this devastating disease. She has been the Chair of the UW IACUC since 2015.
