Lisa Hara Levin is the Alternatives Director for Coridea, LLC, a private equity investment firm that is a leading inventor in the medical device arena with a proven track record of generating innovative technology and converting it into high impact solutions for patients and high value returns for investors. Lisa’s role is to identify non-animal alternatives to traditional whole animal-based models in discrete research areas of cardiology, renal physiology, and neuroscience. Prior to her relationship with Coridea, and in addition to related consulting activities, Lisa occupied senior-level clinical and administrative positions in some of the country’s largest animal sheltering systems; as chief strategist for their medical programs and policy, Lisa maintained constructive relations with municipal and state government agencies, industry, public animal advocacy groups, and media outlets. Presently, her focus has enlarged to include how microphysiological systems may responsibly be integrated into biomedical research, drug development, and safety testing. Lisa is a graduate of Cornell University, obtained her veterinary degree from the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, and completed her postdoctoral research training at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
