Since 2009, Sage Bionetworks has pioneered ethical and legal frameworks, policies, and tools to foster open research collaborations, enhance research quality, and empower participants while safeguarding their rights. Key initiatives include developing governance models for computational analysis contests (DREAM Challenges), supporting large research communities like the Accelerating Medicine Partnership for Alzheimer's Disease (AMP-AD) and the Human Tumor Atlas Network, and leveraging mobile technology to engage and educate the public about biomedical research.
Ms. Suver champions the FAIR guiding principles for data stewardship and explores the real-world implications of big data analysis and comprehensive data linkage. Her notable contributions include co-developing innovative electronic informed consent (eConsent) protocols for major research initiatives, including the AllofUs Research Program, and investigating the practical applications of eConsent to support autonomous decision-making across diverse cognitive abilities. Ms Suver also led the Sage’s Regulatory Hub for the All of Us Research Program and co-chaired the Governance Working Group of the National COVID and Clinical Cohort Collaborative (N3C and N3C-Clinical), facilitating responsible sharing of clinical data for urgent COVID-related research
Through these efforts, Ms. Suver continues to advance ethical standards in biomedical research, particularly in data governance, participant engagement, and collaborative science.
Before joining Sage Bionetworks, she held positions at Lifespan Bioscience and Merck & Co. Inc. Ms. Suver obtained a Master’s in engineering from ENSIA AgroParisTech (France) and a PhD. in Biochemistry from the University of Washington (USA).
