Brian W. Decker serves as a Senior Manager of Cybersecurity Strategy and Portfolio Management at Mayo Clinic's Office of Information Security. In his current role, Brian leads a large group of Mayo Clinic stakeholders in the development and implementation of Mayo’s Cybersecurity Strategy Management and Strategy Execution programs. Previously, he spearheaded the creation of Mayo’s Clinical Trial Management System(s), standardizing clinical trial data management and initiating enterprise-wide participant and protocol tracking capabilities.
With over 23 years of dedicated service at Mayo Clinic and extensive experience since 2012 in the Office of Information Security, Brian brings a wealth of expertise to his role. His educational background includes a double major in Management and Management Information Systems from Luther College and an MBA from Augsburg College. Additionally, he is professionally certified as a CISSP and PMP, underscoring his commitment to maintaining the highest standards in the field.
Brian's leadership and strategic vision continue to play a pivotal role in advancing Mayo Clinic’s cybersecurity, including the advancement of the program, protection and cyber defense. Brian also leads Mayo's AI Security initiative and is a co-leader of Mayo's AI Risk Management working group to ensure safe, secure, ethical and trusted AI solutions.
