Tonya Ferraro serves as AAHRPP’s Accreditation Policy Analyst and is a former AAHRPP site visitor. She has previously held positions as Senior IRB QI Consultant at Boston Children’s Hospital, Senior IRB Administrator at Harvard University, and Research Project Manager at the University of Vermont’s Health Behavior Research Center.
Tonya serves on PRIM&R's Education Committee, Conference Planning Committee, and has previously served as the SBER Conference Co-Chair and a member of the Diversity Advisory Group. She is currently a member of Harvard Catalyst’s Emerging Technologies, Ethics, and Research and QA/QI subcommittees. As a board member of Boston Korean Adoptees, Inc., she created a national research education program centered on the adoptee community, bridging lived experiences and empirical findings.
Tonya holds a B.A. in Studio Art (sculpture) from Northeastern University and an interdisciplinary M.Ed. with a concentration on research methodologies from the University of Vermont. In 2021-2022, she completed a Bioethics Fellowship at Harvard Medical School. This blend of interdisciplinary research and visual arts has shaped her approach to research ethics education.
