Elizabeth (Beth) LaRocca is a seasoned legal professional with over 10 years of experience at the American Medical Association (AMA), currently serving as the Senior Assistant General Counsel and Director of International Relations. In this role, Elizabeth oversees legal matters and directs international relations efforts, ensuring that the AMA maintains strong global partnerships and stays aligned with international ethical standards for research and medical practice.
Beth’s expertise in healthcare law includes key positions held in both public and private sectors. Prior to her current role, she served as General Counsel at the Governor's Office of Health Innovation & Transformation and Legislative Director for the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services. She also held positions as an Assistant Counsel for the Illinois State Senate and as a Healthcare Associate at Ungaretti & Harris.
Beth holds a Juris Doctor with a Health Law Certificate from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and is certified as a Privacy Professional (CIPP/US). She actively contributes to professional organizations and is immediate past chair of the Chicago Bar Association Health Care Section.
