Ms. Abby Keeley, MS, CIP, works as a Sr. Project Specialist for the Human Research Protection Office at Washington University School of Medicine. In this role, Ms. Keeley, serves as the principle individual responsible for the onboarding of new staff members. This role has included the modification of the training manuals based on staff feedback and office needs as well as the creation of supplemental materials to support the training manuals. Additionally, Ms. Keeley has taken a lead role in developing the IRB Office’s internal Quality Assurance Program. This program is aimed at not only ensuring new staff members will be effective and independent team members, but ensuring that veteran staff members maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of the human subjects regulations, state laws, and University and Office policies. Ms. Keeley has over 10 years of experience working in the human subjects regulatory field. This experience enables Ms. Keeley to serve as a resource for University researchers. This work includes contributing to the IRB Office’s Site Initiation Visit Program; a single visit program designed to aid research teams at the beginning of their research endeavor on best practices to ensure compliance throughout the life of a study.
