Kate Sasamoto, JD, is a Senior Research Compliance Associate with the Office of Research Compliance Review, a component of the University of Michigan (U-M) Office of Research. Kate is primarily responsible for conducting compliance audits of research, focusing on biomedical and social and behavioral research involving human participants. Kate also monitors compliance with ClinicalTrials.gov requirements for studies conducted at schools and colleges outside of the U-M Medical School and engages in various quality improvement and quality assurance activities in support of the U-M Human Research Protections Program. She received her J.D. from Michigan State University and a B.A. from the University of Michigan and has previously held positions with the Institutional Review Board and the Michigan Medicine Corporate Compliance Office.
