Assistant Director of Innovative infrastructure

Emily Serdoz, MPA, is the Assistant Director of Innovative Infrastructure at Vanderbilt Universit Medical Center (VUMC) with nearly 20 years’ experience embedding technical platforms into multisite research and research operations to improve transparency, efficiency, and collaboration. Since 2012, Ms. Serdoz has managed the development and evolution of collaborative IRB platforms, such as IRBshare, IRBchoice, and today's platform, the IRB Reliance Exchange (I-REx), with the goal of standardizing single IRB processes across the country while complementing single IRB and HRPP processes. These platforms have received continuous NIH funding for more than a decade and support over 500 institutions and more than 3500 reliance relationships on nearly 600 studies. Ms. Serdoz also serves as the Operations Director for VUMC's Trial Innovation Center (TIC), which is part of the NIH-funded Trial Innovation Network (TIN). In this role she will continue to build relationships, processes, and infrastructure in support of streamlining and innovating study start up, recruitment, retention, and data capture for clinical trials.
