PRIMR24 in-person! Review this information
before arriving on-site.
For those attending the PRIMR24 Virtual Meeting, review this webpage for login and technical requirements.
Event Location/Hotels
Seattle Convention Center (SCC) Summit Building, 900 Pine Street*, Seattle, WA 98101. View a map of the
Convention Center.
The Seattle Convention Center includes two buildings: Arch and Summit.
PRIMR24 will take place in the Summitt Building located at 900 Pine Street.View a map of the
Convention Center.Information on conference hotels can be found on this
webpage. The hotels are a three to five-minute walk from the SCC;
we are not providing shuttle service. PRIM&R is using TripZero to assist with hotel reservations;
DO NOT respond to other organizations about hotel accommodations (they are a scam).
Reserve time to explore Seatle and its neighborhoods and eat at a variety of restaurants:
Registration/Help Desk
Attendees will receive an email on November 14 that includes a QR code to scan at registration to get their name badge (check your junk mail if it is not in your inbox). You can also check-in using your last name.
Registration will take place in
Flex Hall BC on the second floor of the SCC on:
- November 17-19: 7:00 AM-5:00 PM
- November 20: 7:00 AM-12:00 PM
This area will also include a
Help Desk for on-site registration/payments, registration/badge fixes, membership upgrades, and more.
For security purposes,
attendees must wear name badges at all times. IMPORTANT REGISTRATION NOTE! You must be registered for each offering you’re interested in attending (PRIMR24 and the PRIMR24 Workshops).
Check that you are properly registered before arriving on-site:
- Log into your PRIM&R profile
- Click on “Invoices and Receipts”
- Click on “All Orders”
- Click on the Order that contains PRIMR24
- If you are not registered for a PRIMR24 Workshop and want to be, click “Manage Registration” and then, on your ticket name, click the ellipses button and select “Purchase New Sessions.”
- If you need to modify your PRIMR24 registration to a two- or three-day registration or a virtual meeting registration, contact us ASAP.
If you are not registered correctly, you will have to go the Help Desk and
you may experience a wait.
Online Conference Platform
The
online conference platform is where you can build an attendee profile, access session content, read the poster abstracts, learn about supporters and exhibitors, connect with other attendees, and access conference recordings.
- Go to the event website and click “Login” in the upper right-hand corner.
- Enter your PRIM&R login credentials (if you do not remember your password, follow the system prompts; contact us if you do not remember your username).
- Once logged in, complete the attendee profile.
- Click on the favorite “stars” on agenda items, exhibitors, posters, etc., to add them to your personal schedule/conference page. It is critical you note the sessions you want to attend so we can plan properly for seating.
- Click on the “My Experience” link in the left-hand navigation to access your personal conference details.
In person conference registrants will have access to session materials and recordings for the days they attend for 90 days after the conference.
Conference App
The Conference App is your tool for navigating the conference on-site. We will not hand out a physical conference guide.
Access to the App will be provided approximately two weeks before the conferences. We will notify you via email.
Food and Beverage
We are not serving breakfast and lunch. Please note the following:
- We will provide beverages each morning before the conference starts, and morning and afternoon beverage breaks with snacks.
- View a list of dining options within walking distance of the Convention Center for lunch and breakfast.
- Grab and go lunch options will be available for purchase on November 17-19 in the Exhibit Hall in Flex A on the second floor of the SCC.
- There will be three receptions:
- November 17, 4:45-6:00 PM: Reception for PRIMR24 Workshops attendees only in the Exhibit Hall. One drink ticket per person. Appetizers available.
- November 18, 4:45-6:00 PM: PRIM&R 50th Anniversary Reception in the Exhibit Hall. One drink ticket per person. Appetizers available.
- November 19, 4:45-6:00 PM: Emerging Professionals Reception. Attendees registered at this rate are welcome to attend. One drink ticket per person. Appetizers available.
On-Site Services
- Internet: Search for wireless network PRIMRConference, enter password: ADVARRA24! (case sensitive). PRIM&R would like to thank Advarra for supporting this year’s Wi-Fi.
- Charging Stations: Visit The Office at PRIM&R in the Exhibit Hall to access charging stations. Thank you to Advarra for sponsoring this year’s Office! Additionally, there are charging ports (two-prong Edison and USB power outlets) along the drink rails on Levels 2-5, and at each platform of the Hill Climb staircase.
- Coat/Luggage Storage: Please check luggage and coats at the bell stand of your hotel and/or keep with you on-site.
- Lactation/Nursing Mothers Room: The SCC has -wellness/PCR rooms on the third level near room 341 and on the fourth level near room 441. Both locations include refrigerators and lock from the inside.
- Lost and Found: Turn lost items into the Help Desk. Found items will be given to SCC’s Security Control Division at the end of the event. To look for a lost item, visit the Help Desk or call the Security Control office at 206.694.5127.
- Restrooms: The SCC is an inclusive meeting space. Attendees are welcome to use the restroom that corresponds with their gender identity. Gender neutral restrooms are located throughout the facility marked with signage.
Emergencies
In the event of an emergency, contact the SCC’s Security Control Division by dialing ext. 4748 from any house phone or 206.219.4748 from a cell phone. Security will call 911. If you cannot reach Security, call 911.
- Evacuations: Proceed calmly to the nearest emergency exit (exit signs are located above the door or stairwells) and exit the building immediately. All fire exit stairwells lead to the street and are the fastest way to exit the building. Guests should move away from sidewalks immediately adjacent to the building. Do not use elevators. Do not re-enter the building until an “All Clear” has been given by Security. An alarm will sound for fire-related emergencies. In all cases, trained Emergency Response Team personnel will assist guests in moving toward the nearest exit.
- Sheltering in Place: Should Security determine the need for attendees to stay inside, follow the instructions of Security, go to an interior room with few or no windows, stay in your assigned area and don’t leave the building unless instructed, and listen for the “All Clear” given by Security before leaving your space/the building.
- Active Shooter: In the event of an active shooter, the SCC supports the nationally recommended response of RUN, HIDE, FIGHT. Security and staff will announce the need for an evacuation and assist with coordinating emergency services if it is safe to do so. Do not utilize fire alarm pull stations in this type of emergency as it indicates a fire and may cause others to not respond appropriately to the situation.
EMT/Medical Services
An EMT will be on-site to assist with medical emergencies. If you or someone else is in need of this service go to the Help Desk, or call the EMT by dialing ext. 4748 from any house phone or 206.219.4748 from a cell phone.
Please
review this document for a list of area hospitals, urgent cares, and pharmacies should you need those services. If you need assistance getting to one of these places, visit the Help Desk or contact 413.364.5877 after conference hours.
Travelling to and attending a large event includes the possibility of being exposed to COVID-19 and other communicable diseases. At this time, we are not requiring vaccination or masks to attend this meeting. PRIM&R reserves the right to change this policy if warranted.
Evaluations, Credits, and Certificates of Attendance
Evaluations can be accessed by clicking on the “Evaluation” button on each session descriptor box or by clicking on the “Evaluation” button on the online platform and conference app homepages. Evaluations will be live starting November 17.
To obtain a
Certificate of Attendance, you must first evaluate the conference and sessions you attended, and then you will be able to download your Certificate of Attendance.
Evaluations must be completed by February 28, 2025*. Information on certificates of attendance, continuing education credits, CIP credits, and/or CPIA credits can be obtained on this
webpage.
*It is critical that those requiring credits for re-certification purposes evaluate sessions and get their certificate attendance by the end of the 90-day access period for session recordings. Certificates will not be available after this point.
Exhibit Hall
The Exhibit Hall is located in Flex Hall BC on the second level of the SCC and is home to the supporters and exhibitors, posters, the PRIM&R booth, the Office at PRIM&R, the Industry Expert Theater, beverage service, and receptions. The hall will be open:
- November 17: 4:15-6:00 PM (for PRIMR24 Workshop Reception only)
- November 18: 7:00 AM-5:30 PM (PRIM&R 50th Anniversary Reception)
- November 19: 7:00 AM-4:45 PM
- November 20: 7:00-10:30 AM
The following activities are taking place in the Exhibit Hall:
- Supporters and Exhibitors: The online conference platform and conference app includes a list of supporters and exhibitors. View the Exhibit Hall Map (forthcoming).
- Poster Gallery: View this year’s outstanding poster abstracts featuring programmatic and empirical work on topics related to human subjects protections, animal care and use, and crossover topics. Posters, along with 10-minute recorded talks, can also be accessed via the online conference platform and conference app.
- Office Hours: Federal Agencies, the accrediting bodies, and the CIP and CPIA Councils will be hosting office hours November 17-20. View the agenda to learn more about when these organizations are hosting hours and click the star icon to add it/them to your schedule.
- Industry Expert Theater: Attend presentations by select supporters and exhibitors and poster abstracts authors. A full schedule will be listed here and on the agenda by November 1.
Lead Retrieval
Participating Supporters and Exhibitors will be using lead retrieval to connect with attendees. Vendors may ask to scan the quick response (QR) code on your name badge; the QR code stores your contact information as it appears in our database (including your email).
On-Site Photography
A photographer will be on-site during this event. Photos taken at this year’s conference may be used on our website or for other promotional purposes. If you do not wish to have your photograph taken, alert the photographer.
Principles and Expectations for Participation at PRIM&R Conferences
PRIM&R’s conferences offer a safe and respectful environment for attendees to learn and network. PRIM&R is committed to being an impartial convener within the field, which encompasses people with a range of differing opinions. PRIM&R values freedom of expression, constructive and respectful dialogue, and spirited discussion, as they are essential to finding common ground and advancing the goal of responsible, ethical conduct of research.
PRIM&R will not tolerate the disruption of sessions that result in:
- The inability for learning objectives to be met
- The inability for dialogue, discussion, debate, learning, and/ or networking to take place
- Harassment, badgering, or verbal threats
- The use or threat of physical force by any individual or group of individuals against another
- Destruction of property
When making comments, identify yourself, be brief, stay on topic, and be mindful of others who wish to participate.
As part of registering for this conference, all in attendance agree to adhere to the conduct policy in effect at the time of the event. The policy is subject to change.
